Alissa Reitmeier has been named main anchor for St. Louis CBS affiliate KMOV.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports she’ll sit next to Steve Savard on the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts. “Certainly, it’s a dream-come-true job to be anchoring in my hometown, and I’m excited to be working with Steve and the team we have here,’ said Reitmeier.
[Station manager Mike] Murphy said another on-air reporter would be hired soon to make up for the loss of Jasmine Huda, who quit the station last month after being passed over for the position that went to Reitmeier.
Huda had once been considered the odds-on favorite to replace Sharon Reed as main co-anchor. But in early September, station officials told Huda she was not going to get the job. She quit shortly thereafter.
Claire Kellett will anchor at noon, 4 and 5 p.m.
Thank you very much, Tim! Exciting times at KMOV! https://t.co/IpB9tttw2L
