KMCIKansas City independent station KMCI is adding an hour-long 7:00 a.m. newscast to its program lineup. “41 Action News Today on 38 The Spot” will be anchored by Patrick Fazio and Lindsay Shively, along with meteorologist Kalee Dionne and traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell.

“We are excited to bring the energy and enthusiasm of the 41 Action News Today team to a fresh, new audience,” said Carrie Hofmann, KSHB news director.

The new show will be produced by sister station (and NBC affiliate) KSHB and will feature sports coverage, trending internet topics and other lifestyle reporting.

“In addition to all of the overnight breaking news, viewers want to know about their morning commute and forecast — and we’re happy to give it to them,” Hofmann added. “With the Royals and Sporting Kansas City getting ready to start their seasons, sports fans will also have plenty to talk about, and we want to serve those viewers as well.”

The newscast debuts on Monday, April 16.
