Denise Valdez will replace the retiring Paula Francis on KLAS.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports, Valdez will join co-anchor Dave Courvoisier on the Las Vegas CBS affiliate’s 5, 6 and 11 p.m. shows on Monday April 4. Francis’ last day will be the previous Friday.
“Sharing the anchor desk with Gary Waddell, Dave McCann, Paul Joncich and Paula Francis has been a great honor as I now look forward to working alongside Dave Courvoisier,” said Valdez. “Las Vegas is my home. So I’m excited to expand my role at 8 News Now to continue sharing the stories that impact 2 million Southern Nevadans.”

Valdez worked at KNBC in Los Angeles before joining KLAS in 2006. Francis announced her retirement in February. She’s worked at the station since 1988.
