KLAS has promoted its morning anchor, Brian Loftus.
Loftus will begin anchoring the evening 5pm and 11pm newscasts starting January 2nd.
“We are thrilled to promote Brian to Evening Anchor,” said news director Terri Foley. “Brian is a talented journalist who will continue the strong tradition and legacy of 8 News Now as the Valley’s News Leader.”
Loftus will replace Dave Courvoisier who announced he is leaving the Nexstar owned CBS affiliate after 15 years to begin a new chapter.
“For the past eight years, it’s been a pleasure starting the day with Las Vegas and the best morning team in the business, including my talented colleagues Kirsten Joyce, Sherry Swensk and the entire “Good Day” crew,” Loftus said. “I am humbled and excited to move to evenings, alongside Denise Valdez and Tedd Florendo.
He started at the station in 2009 as a traffic anchor.
