KHOU honored its news director, Sally Ramirez and General Manager, Susan McEldoon for their dedication to the station and its employees during Hurricane Harvey.
Anchor Shern-Min Chow took cell phone video of the small ceremony and put together a video. It features speeches from the station’s digital director and assistant news director, Josh Hubbard, who told a story about how Ramirez helped save a family who was stuck on their roof.
“The faces you don’t see at KHOU 11 News who kept us afloat – no matter what Harvey did. Put this together for Our News Director Sally Ramirez & General Manager & VP Susan McEldoon,” Chow said in a Facebook post.
The Tegna owned CBS affiliate, lost its studio and newsroom to flooding. They are working out of KUHT TV8, the PBS affiliate in Houston, temporarily.
