U.S. Senator John Kerry urged federal regulators to intervene in a fee dispute between Cablevision Systems Corp. and Walt Disney Co.s ABC television station in New York before viewers lose access to programming.

Cablevision customers should keep the WABC-TV signal while good-faith negotiations continue, Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat and chairman of the Commerce Committees Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet, said in a letter yesterday sent by e-mail. The letter was sent to Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski.
