KENS Traffic Anchor Alanna Sarabia Leaves Local TV

KENS traffic anchor Alanna Sarabia left the San Antonio CBS station on Friday for a job at her alma mater, Texas State University.

Sarabia told MySA she is leaving the TV business. She joined the station in October 2021.

“I adore the people that make up KENS 5, so that obviously made this decision a poignant one. These are the same people that supported my decision to continue growing on a professional level outside of television,” she told MySA. “I feel I had the chance to do everything I wanted in the broadcast business, to which I’m grateful, but I felt it was time to pursue a different career direction.”

Before working at KENS, she was the host of Dallas station WFAA’s Good Morning Texas for almost five years.

“Throughout my years in the TV business, I was constantly heading back to my alma mater, Texas State University, to speak on mass communication panels — joined a few boards, including the Texas State Alumni Association — and to simply enjoy a game,” she says. “Little did I know, these experiences were quietly charting the course for my transition into higher education. I recently joined the University Advancement team at Texas State. I’m looking forward to helping current students the same way the university supported me.”
