KDFW reporter Matt Grubs is leaving the Dallas area to be closer to his family, he announced yesterday in an email to staffers obtained by Uncle Barky’s Bytes.
“Personally, it’s a good move for us,” Grubs wrote in the email. “Professionally, it will be a bit tougher because I will be leaving daily television news behind. I will miss telling stories about people who are a lot closer to us than we sometimes realize.”
Grubs will take his next steps in the television business behind the camera, producing programming for a PBS station in New Mexico. He has been at KDFW since 2008, where his reports have been a staple on the Fox O&O’s 9 p.m.newscasts. Grubs will officially depart from KDFW later this summer.
