KMBC meteorologist Neville Miller will be joining chief meteorologist Bryan Busby on the weekday newscasts beginning in November.
The Kansas City ABC affiliate will feature coverage from both meteorologists five nights a week and plans to hire a sixth meteorologist which, the station said, will make its weather team the city’s largest ever.
“When it comes to keeping our viewers safe, KMBC 9 First Alert Weather is committed to setting the standard not only for this area but also nationally,” said Busby. “Neville is an integral part of our team and I’m looking forward to seeing him expand his role at the station.”
“I’m excited to join Bryan on weekday evenings and nights,” Miller said. “Together, we’ll continue the work of giving viewers the most accurate forecast as well as the first alert on impending weather.”
Miller joined KMBC in January 2014.
“Neville is a skilled meteorologist and communicator who knows and loves Kansas City,” said KMBC-KCWE president and general manager Justin Antoniotti. “With Bryan and Neville both working weekday evenings and nights, viewers get two meteorologists tracking severe weather, forecasting Alert and Impact Days, and making sure the First Alert forecast is accurate.”
“We have just begun the search for a sixth meteorologist to create the largest TV weather team in Kansas City,” said Antoniotti. “I have no doubt we will find another great meteorologist to add to the already strong First Alert Weather team.”
