John Reger Out at KSBY

Anchor John Reger is no longer with San Luis Obispo, Calif. NBC affiliate KSBY.

“John is a great guy, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors,” KSBY GM Kathleen Choal told The Tribune. “We’re very proud of his work here.”

She wouldn’t say why he left. He shut down his station facebook page in mid-December.

Reger worked for the station for four years, where he was a familiar face alongside Jeanette Trompeter in the anchor chair.

Trompeter returned to KSBY in 2010 after working her first full-time television position at the station.

Choal said that the station is still deciding on who will fill an ongoing anchor role in place of Reger. In the meantime, Dan Shadwell has been co-anchor with Trompeter in recent weeks.

Reger came to KSBY in 2010. He had also worked at Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. CBS owned station WCCO.
