Joe Danneman Named WXIX Sports Director

Joe Danneman has been named sports director for Cincinnati FOX affiliate WXIX, effective September 23, TVSpy has confirmed.

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, general manager Bill Lanesey announced the news to the staff saying, “I know this has been a very emotional couple days around here but I wanted to end the week on what I’m sure all of you will find to be great news. Joe Danneman will be the next Sports Director at WXIX.”

Friday was the last day for both Sheila Gray, who rejected a contract offer from the station, and traffic reporter Stephanie Woods who is moving to Philadelphia.

Danneman started his career at Raycom owned WXIX in 2001. In 2009, he left to work at Raycom’s Evansville, IN, station WFIE and returned to WXIX in 2011.  He replaces Brian Giesenschlag who will leave the station September 22.
