Jennifer Copeland will join ABC affiliate WBND in South Bend, Indiana to anchor the 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. newscasts.
Copeland last worked at South Bend CBS affiliate WSBT, where she worked for 15 years.
“I’m thrilled to continue doing what I love in the community I love,” said Copeland. “My daughters have grown up here and I’m so thankful for the beautiful balance ABC57 brings to my life. I get to be the kind of mom I want to be and work with a tremendously talented, experienced team. This is where I want to be,” said Copeland. “Storytelling is my passion. I’m excited to show you ‘why’ I fall I love with the stories I tell. Discovering the ‘why’ in others is the most valuable and real part of any story. It’s a privilege to know it and share it.”
Copeland has also worked in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, Charlotte, N.C., Champaign, Illinois, and Cleveland, Ohio.
“With a veteran news reporter like Jennifer joining anchor Brian Conybeare and chief meteorologist Tom Coomes, ABC57 will have the most experienced anchor team in Michiana,” added station vice president and general manager Aaron Ramey. “Jennifer’s years of experience in the market, along with that of Brian and Tom, who grew up in the area, will give viewers an insight into the community that no other station can.
