By Kevin Eck

Janet Lomax is retiring from Rochester, N.Y. NBC affiliate WHEC after 36 years there.

Lomax started her career at WAVE in Louisville, Ky. as a reporter and photographer before joining WHEC.

“I’ve been blessed to be a part of this community and this station,” said Lomax. “I’ve been touched by the incredible people here and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to tell their stories. After 40 years in broadcasting, it’s time. I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me next.”

Lomax will leave station at the end of December.
