Waterloo, Iowa NBC affiliate KWWL has hired Abby Turpin as co-anchor of its 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Turpin, who will join the station in June, comes from national agriculture cable network RFD-TV, where she’s worked for the last two years. She’ll anchor the evening newscasts with Ron Steele.

“She’s an excellent fit for our viewers,” said Jim McKernan, vp and GM. “A solid journalistic background and an expertise in the Ag field, which matters significantly to so many in our viewing area.”
