Indianapolis’s Fox affiliate WXIN-TV is set to expand its daily news coverage, adding an hour and a half to its weekday newscasts. WXIN will add an hour of news at 4pm and half hour of news at 4:30am.

The move is part of a concerted effort by the station to be the first available option for TV viewers in the Indianapolis area. “When you compare us to our competition, Fox 59 will be on it,” said Vice President and General Manager Jerry Martin, “the first on the air at 4:30am for early morning viewers, first with our midday news at 11am, first at 4pm and first at 10pm.”
