KTEN-TV, General Manager, Craig Marrs announced Monday, the addition of Gary Carter, award-winning writer and editor for the Herald Democrat newspaper, as assignment editor for KTEN News.
For the better part of two decades, Carter, a Denison native, chronicled some of Texoma’s biggest news stories including the Floods of 2007, Tornadoes in Denison, Van Alystyn and Collin County, and the fight in the effort to remove salt from Lake Texoma. Carter also provided light-hearted fare through his popular and comprehensive gastronomic guide and Sites & Bites food column. For nearly a decade, Carter could be heard weekly on local radio sharing tips for movies and dining out in Texoma.
As city editor for Texomas largest daily newspaper, Carter helped foster dozens of Associated Press award-winning writers and photographers as they chronicled the daily lives and events of those in Texoma. More…
