Without fanfare, WPLG-ABC 10 has promoted morning newsman Calvin Hughes to the nighttime co-anchor seat next to Laurie Jennings.
It’s been vacant since the station bumped Charles Perez 10 months ago.

“It came as a surprise. I was in the throes of waking up at 3 o’clock in the morning,” says Hughes, 38, who for 3 1/2 years co-anchored the 5 to 7 a.m., 9 to 10 a.m. and noon shifts with Kristi Krueger. More…
