Mike Avery is the new morning news co-anchor at WXMI-TV (Channel 17) weekdays, with Sarah Brodhead, meteorologist Jon Shaner and traffic anchor Robb Westaby.
Avery has co-anchored the Fox 17 Morning News on an interim basis since November. He joined WXMI in June 2005 as co-anchor for the weekend edition of Fox 17 News at 10.

Avery came to Grand Rapids from Savannah, Ga., where he worked as a reporter.
