Houston Anchor Surprises Viewer Heading to Hospice Care

Your local news anchors and reporters can often feel like family. And when you’re feeling down, family is there to lift you up.

In Houston, 75 year-old Barbara Bradley had suffered complications from recent open heart surgery and is heading to hospice care. Her favorite KRIV anchor, Jonathan Martin, got word about her condition and last week, he paid her a visit.

“I had to visit you,’ Martin said as he walked into the hospital room with flowers. ‘Thank you, I love you,” Brawley replied upon seeing him.

“Her family says she loves FOX 26 Houston and enjoys hearing my voice on the news. I had to stop by to encourage her. Never be too busy to uplift someone,” Martin said in his Facebook post.

Martin is the station’s 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. anchor. The video has received more than 21,000 views.
