Homegrown Anchor Grounds Milwaukee’s WDJT

If there is an “if life gives you lemons” quality to the “Just 10 Minutes” marketing campaign of the WDJT-TV (Channel 58) newscast, then the station’s news anchor, Paul Piaskoski, is the Lemon Drop Kid.

The homespun campaign has helped WDJT’s hyper-local and crime-report-heavy third- and fourth-rated news programs stay competitive, and the homegrown Piaskoski is made in its image.

Piaskoski, an alumnus of Marquette High School and Marquette University who began his career as an intern at WTMJ-TV (Channel 4), said he “still feels like an intern” around other local TV news veterans. More…
