Here’s the Roundup for the Week Ending June 2

Happy Friday to all who celebrate. Here’s the weekly roundup of stories about local TV we didn’t get to for one reason or another.

In addition to the weekly migration between stations, we hear about Nexstar donating money to a local college in Georgia so students in the communications department can work on new equipment. We also saw a story that leaves us feeling like we need to dig in a little deeper and find out more. Forget about the Emmys and the Murrows and the countless other awards out there, one anchor in Bristol, Virginia won a celebrity drag race competition at the Bristol Dragway. How many of us can say that?

Telemundo’s KASA Albuquerque, N.M., has added Adrián Miró to the weather team of the Spanish-language station. Miró joins anchors Alejandro Contreras and Mayra Aguilar and reporters Sergio Guerrero and Deyaneyra Perea. His on-air debut was on Monday. Click here for more.

The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and WRBL-TV, the Nexstar Media Inc. television station serving Columbus, Georgia and the surrounding area, today announced that the Foundation will donate $2,500 to the Columbus State University Foundation (CSUF). The donation will go towards equipment and software, such as Adobe Premiere, for the Department of Communications. Click here for more.
