Andrew Fitzgerald has been named chief digital content officer for Hearst Television.
Fitzgerald comes from Twitter where he was director of curation. In this newly created position, he’ll will work with Hearst’s stations in 26 markets to create and distribute content on multiple digital platforms.
“We are very excited to have someone of Andrew’s accomplished digital media background to lead the expansion of Hearst Television’s digital content,” said Hearst Television president Jordan Wertlieb. “Andrew is a digital native executive and he will be an exceptional addition to Hearst Television’s extraordinary team.”
The Hearst release says Fitzgerald “built and oversaw the global curation teams responsible for Moments, the Twitter feature developed to ease the way for users to find conversations and context around news, events and information beyond their home timelines.”
He starts Monday, April 10 and will work at Hearst Television’s New York City headquarters.
