Gannett’s 81 community newspapers can hope to get a boost from a new local ad sales partnership with Yahoo. The deal also includes Gannett’s broadcasting stations, suggesting that this deal goes beyond membership in Yahoo Newspaper Consortium, which has over 800 papers.
The partnership also reflects Yahoo’s increasing focus on local ad sales and extending its APT display sales and management platform to other media companies besides newspapers.
