In Orlando, WKMG news director Allison McGinley is sharing her story about how she got to the news director office.

Here’s a hint: she didn’t have to leave the station to make it happen.

McGinley started as an intern at the CBS affiliate in Orlando. She moved to the weekend assignment editor position and later got a promotion to producer, a position she for seven years. After her time in the control room, she moved to the investigative unit and finally to the news director chair.
