Fresno’s KGPE Moves ‘CBS Evening News’ Out of Typical Slot

“The CBS Evening News” with Katie Couric” moves to 6:30 p.m. weekdays starting Monday on KGPE (Channel 47). “Extra” moves into the 5:30 p.m. time slot where the national news program has been airing.

The move means instead of going head-to-head with the NBC and ABC evening national news, the CBS news program will air against the local news on KSEE (Channel 24.1) and KFSN (Channel 30.1).

“Our hope is that there will be a lot of people who don’t get home until after 6 [p.m.] and they will want to see our national news program,” says KGPE general manager Linda Danna. More…
