Veteran WAGA reporter Patty Pan is leaving the Fox owned Atlanta station after 17 years there.

Pan said she was leaving to work in community affairs for a local law enforcement agency.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution media writer Rodney Ho said Pan is the longest running Asian-American broadcast reporter in the market.

“TV is in my blood. It’ll always be in my blood,” she told Ho. “There’s never a right time to leave the business, but this great opportunity presented itself to work with some amazing people. It was one of those opportunities that was hard to pass up.”

Pan, who has also worked at WSOC in Charlotte and at WTVM in Columbus, Ga., leaves the station next week.

“I have so many people to thank including my managers, photographers, (the list goes on) but most of all, YOU, the loyal viewers. To you, I say a heartfelt, Thank You,” Pan wrote on social media. “Thank you for inviting me into your homes over the years and for your continued support—but most importantly, thank you for entrusting me to tell your stories and for allowing me to be your voice. It has been an honor and a privilege.”
