“In going through this whole process. I realized it is going to be very important for me to not only go through this myself, but also to share my story,” he said in his on-air announcement.
Woods turned 50 a few months ago and said he went to an annual checkup. A prostate exam found an issue. Dr. Oz sat down with the meteorologist to explain his diagnosis.
Woods said his grandfather, father and uncle all had prostate cancer and passed away after surgery.
“That’s probably most shocking. You’re a stud, you’re hit, you don’t have the typical risk factors,” Oz said.
Woods will get surgery to remove his prostate and continue to share his stories with viewers.
