Fox 5 Good Day Wake Up Anchor Leaving for ‘Personal’ Reasons

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

Longtime New York morning anchor Sukanya Krishnan says life is about choices and she has decided it’s time to leave WNYW.

“Today part of my forever began and ended as the anchor for Good Day Wake Up. It’s been an amazing two years, that has helped me heal from the hurt and disappointment of past jobs. The decision to leave was a personal one and something that many might not understand but please know the decision is something I needed to do for myself and my family,” Krishnan said in a lengthy post on Facebook Friday. It was her last day on the job.

Krishnan has been with the Fox station for two years as the Good Day Wake Up host alongside Jennifer Lahmers, who she addressed in her goodbye.

“To my Jenn, I will love you like a sister forever. None of this could have been possible without you. You helped heal me in so many ways and gave me the courage to walk away.”

Earlier this summer, Lahmers announced she was also leaving the station, to take a job with Extra.

Krishnan was the morning anchor at WPIX for 18 years before being let go. You can see her entire note below. It’s unclear who will be the next set of Good Day Wake Up anchors.
