Former WAVY Anchor Settles Lawsuits Against Station

Former news anchor David Nelson‘s suits against WAVY-TV (Channel 10) have been settled.

Nelson sued WAVY and its parent company, LIN Television Corp., in November in U.S. District Court in Norfolk, saying the station ignored his requests for time off to recover from back problems before it fired him in 2007.

“The case has been resolved,” LIN Television’s attorney, William Furr of Willcox & Savage in Norfolk, said Monday. Nelson’s lawyer, James Shoemaker Jr. of Patten, Wornom, Hatten & Diamonstein in Newport News, said the same thing. More…
