Former KTVU reporter Betty Ann Bruno has died. She was 91.

Bruno joined KTVU in 1971 and left the station in 1991, before it was owned by Fox. She started her career as a political talk show producer and host before becoming an investigative reporter. After retiring, she moved to Sonoma where she worked as a Hula teacher.

She appeared in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as one of the munchkins when she was 7.

“Betty Ann was always able to get the interview,” said retired reporter Rob Roth. “She really did care about the community, cared about reporting, she was just a real treasure, a joy to know.”

Bruno is survived by her husband Craig, a former KTVU photographer, and her three sons.
