Deanna Dewberry has gone from market five in Dallas to market 76 in Rochester, N.Y.

Rochester NBC affiliate WHEC announced the news on its website. Dewberry will anchor and work as the station’s consumer investigative reporter.

“Deanna is a wonderful person and a committed journalist, we are excited to have her join our team,” said vp and GM Derek Dalton. “Her passion for family, community and her spirit of over-coming adversity is an incredible blend that we are certain Rochester will embrace.”

She left Dallas NBC-owned station KXAS in June. At the time, Dallas media blogger Ed Bark said KXAS news director Mark Ginther told station staff Dewberry was looking to be an anchor.

Her first day is Monday.
