Former WMAR anchor Jack Bowden has died at the age of 82.

“It was like he was getting off the stage,” said his wife, Susan White-Bowden. “He seemed to be at peace.”

The Baltimore Sun reports Bowden left WMAR in 1988 after a contract dispute and started working at WBAL radio in 1989.

A 1981 Sun column said, “It may surprise some people, but the hottest personalities on Baltimore television right now are Jack Bowden and Susan White Bowden, the husband and wife co-anchor team on Channel 2’s Noon News.” The story cited rating that show Mr. Bowden and his wife’s popularity.
