Former Atlanta Anchor Signs with the WWE

Sudu Upadhyay has signed on with the WWE to work as a commentator on its 205 Live show under the name Sudu Shah.

“Last night was a dream come true!” Shah posted to Facebook after hosting his first show. “Beyond thrilled to announce that I’ve joined the WWE as the new play-by-play announcer for WWE 205 Live, See you Fridays at 10 PM ET on Peacock!”

Upadhyay worked at Atlanta Fox owned station WAGA until last year. He’d also worked as a sports anchor at WMC in Memphis for three years.

Upadhyay will work alongside Nigel McGuinness. 205 Live is a show featuring Cruiserweights, or wrestlers who weigh up to 205 lbs.
