Sarasota ABC affiliate WWSB says it’s planning to launch a 7 p.m. newscast on Monday, September 14.
The newscast will be anchored by Alan Cohn. Cohn was an investigative reporter at WFTS in Tampa before joining WWSB. He’s also worked at WTNH in New Haven, Conn., WAMI in Miami and NECN in Boston.
The station says the show will feature long-form reporting with an investigative point of view. They also promise a roundtable discussion with community leaders and newsmakers.

“We are very excited to provide more local news for the Suncoast audience,” said news director Steve Sabato. “‘ABC 7 News at 7:00’ will give us the ideal platform to better serve working professionals, and others, who may not be available for our early evening newscasts.”
