The Federal Communications Commission has signed off on the Tribune-Nexstar merger.

This will make Nexstar the largest owner of broadcast stations in the U.S.

On Monday, the agency approved the sale and the divestiture of stations to Scripps, Tegna and CCB. Nexstar needed to sell off stations in order to comply with the current ownership rules.
