WWJ weekend meteorologist April Moss became the second local journalist in a week to use her time on local TV against her employer in a very public manner.
Yesterday, in the middle of giving her Father’s Day forecast, Moss told viewers of the Detroit CBS-owned station: “And speaking of a brand new week, I will be sitting down this week with Project Veritas to discuss the discrimination that CBS is enforcing upon its employees. Tune in to Project Veritas for my full story.”
Moss has worked at WWJ since 2012. We asked CBS Television Stations for comment and will update when we hear back.
Moss’s move comes a week after KRIV reporter Ivory Hecker was fired by Fox for starting a live shot by telling viewers she had a recording proving Fox was “muzzling” her. The recording from Project Veritas, a far-right group, later showed that KRIV news managers rejected Hecker’s pitch to cover Bitcoin because the station said it wouldn’t appeal to viewers of the station’s early evening news.
