NBC News announced Tuesday that David Verdi will step into the role of senior vice president of worldwide newsgathering, where he will oversee partnerships with the network’s affiliates and the NBC News Channel.
Verdi was previously VP of newsgathering at NBC. In a memo to NBC Universal staffers on Tuesday, president Steve Capus said Verdi’s new role will “effectively create the strongest news gathering unit of any news organization, pulling together the resources of NBC News, the NBC News Channel, and our affiliates.”
