Dana Tyler and Dick Brennan Off Anchor Desk in WCBS ‘Transition’

By Kevin Eck

WCBS continues to shake up its on-air staff.

Tuesday, we reported that morning anchor Andrea Grymes was moved off the desk. Today, we find out Dick Brennan and Dana Tyler are leaving the 6 p.m. newscast.

In an email obtained by TVSpy, WCBS president and gm Johnny Green told staff that Tyler and Brennan will “transition” off the news desk.

“This is not goodbye. Dana will be with us to fill-in anchor and contribute stories and interviews on air and streaming. Dick will return to being a reporter,” he said.
Tyler joined WCBS in 1990 as weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. Brennan started in in 2012 as an anchor and reporter.

Team

I wanted to let you know that Dana Tyler and Dick Brennan, two people who have contributed to the success of WCBS over the years, will be transitioning away from the news desk of our 6:00 PM newscasts in a few weeks.

This is not goodbye. Dana will be with us to fill-in anchor and contribute stories and interviews on air and streaming. Dick will return to being a reporter.

They will both be on the air through the end of March when Maurice DuBois and Kristine Johnson will expand their time slot through 6:30pm.

Dana and Dick are longtime members of the WCBS family, and we look forward to them continuing to make their mark on our organization.

Johnny
