Dallas Station Names Chief Meteorologist

Scott Padgett has been promoted to chief meteorologist for Dallas CBS-owned station KTVT.

He’ll move from mornings to the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts alongside Doug Dunbar and Kaley O’Kelley.

“We’re pleased to give Scott this well-deserved promotion,” said president and GM Gary Schneider. “He has two decades of experience forecasting a wide range of severe weather, from tornados to ice storms to hurricanes. Scott knows Texas weather, and CBS 11 viewers can depend on him to keep them ahead of the storms that come our way.”

He fills the vacancy left by the departure of Larry Mowry in March. Mowry went to work in Chicago at ABC-owned station WLS.
