Todd Brown has been named vice president and general manager of Cox-owned Boston station WFXT.

CMG Television evp Paul Curran said the station group is “thrilled to have someone of Todd’s personal and professional caliber leading the charge” at the Boston Fox affiliate.

“The outstanding broadcasters that work at Boston 25 will thrive under his leadership and innovative spirit,” said Curran. “At every stop in his broadcasting career, Todd has grown ratings and revenue while also super-serving the community, a staple of the CMG culture.”

Brown comes from the Meredith Corp., where he was svp and chief revenue officer. He started his career with Meredith as a local sales manager for KVVU in Las Vegas and was promoted after two years to general sales manager and, later, to vp and gm.

Prior to joining Meredith in 2002, Brown served as general sales manager for KSEE in Fresno, Calif. Between 2013 and 2017, he served as chairman of the Nevada Broadcasters Association.

“I could not be more excited to join CMG and Boston 25,” said Brown. “Boston 25 has a rich broadcast history in serving Boston and surrounding communities, and I am looking forward to working with the team in perpetuating this Boston spirit.”
