WHBQ, the Cox-owned Fox affiliate in Memphis, has a new General Sales Manager.
This is a promotion for Omesh Somaru who’s been a local sales rep with the station since 2015. In his new role, Somaru will oversee the stations advertising sales across all platforms and its mobile apps.
“Not only has Omesh been an integral part of FOX 13’s revenue growth since joining us, but he brings outstanding experience with him,” said Paul Briggs, vp and General Manager for WHBQ. “This multi-market experience will be a competitive edge as Omesh works with our outstanding sales team in providing the very best client solutions in the market.”
Somaru began his media career as an account executive at WKMG in Orlando, Fla. and then as a regional account executive for Comcast sales in Ft. Myers.
He joined Cox Media Group in 2007.
