Comms Director for Kentucky Secretary of State Takes Lexington News Job

By Kevin Eck

Miranda Combs is joining Lexington, Ky. Fox affiliate WDKY as the station’s assistant news director.

The journalist previously left Lexington CBS affiliate WKYT in January 2020 to work as the communications director for Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams.

After a year and a half outside of television, I’m going back,” she wrote on Facebook. “I’m excited to return to my passion.

Combs said that what she learned working for Adams was “invaluable,” and that she has appreciated her time working for him.

“The Secretary is just as funny and caring in person as he is on Facebook and Twitter,” said Combs. “Fox 56 is building something special during the next few months and I can’t wait to share more. Stay tuned…”

Nexstar completed its purchase of WDKY in September 2020.
