Columbus Meteorologist Will Plead Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

Columbus meteorologist Mike Davis is going to plead guilty to child pornography charges.

According to the Scioto Valley Guardian, court filings show the 61 year old faces 25 years behind bars if convicted. The charges stem from a 2019 arrest. Upon receiving a tip, police discovered more than 1,500 images of naked children on Davis’ home and work computers. Detectives raided WBNS to collect evidence. He was fired days after his arrest.

He’s now facing three felony counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor and one felony count of possession of sexually oriented material. Davis is out on $50,000 bond.

His trial is set to begin Jan. 30. At that time, his lawyers are expected to push for him to go to a residential treatment facility instead of jail. They will also cite other cases where people convicted of the same crime only served three months in jail.
