Citadel Reaches DirecTV Deal in Iowa, Nebraska

DirecTV subscribers will keep programming after all, thanks to an agreement in a dispute between the satellite TV company and Citadel Communications.

The two companies reached an agreement in principle before a 1 p.m. deadline Thursday, said Ray Cole, president and general manager of WOI-TV in Des Moines. The deadline had been extended from midnight Wednesday. No contract details were released.

The deal affects WOI, an ABC affiliate; KLKN-TV, an ABC affiliate in Lincoln, Neb.; and WHBF-TV, a CBS affiliate in the Quad Cities. More…
