Cincinnati Station Makes Changes at Meteorologist

Cincinnati CBS affiliate WKRC has hired Tera Blake as a morning meteorologist, moving John Gumm to evenings.

John Kiesewtter writes Gumm’s move doesn’t come with the chief meteorologist title. The station’s former chief meteorologist Tim Hedrick died of cancer in April.

Blake comes from WEWS in Cleveland and will join WKRC in December.

Gumm has worked at the station since 2005. Kiesewetter reports Gumm will work the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscast. Erica Collura will do the 4, 5:30 and 10 on WSTR. Scott Dimmich and Brandon Orr will do the weekend newscasts.

“We decided that taking a team approach to weather was a good strategy for us,” said news director Tim Geraghty. “Our plan allows other members of the meteorologist team to handle other news day parts while still maintaining our core mission, which is to serve our viewers and users with the highest quality and most accurate forecast in the market.”
