Chuck Rhodes Announces Retirement

Chuck Rhodes, longtime forecaster and feature reporter for Harrisburg, Pa. ABC affiliate WHTM, has announced his retirement.

Rhodes, who moved from forecasting to feature reporting in 2008, said his last day at WHTM will be April 30. Rhodes is credited with writing and sometimes shooting his “Let’s Go Places” features.

“Reporting nearly 700 stories for my “Let’s Go Places” segments on abc27 News has convinced me there are a lot of good people doing fun, interesting and positive things right in our back yard,” said Rhodes. “The viewers have been so kind to me over the years, I remain humbly grateful.”

Rhodes started at WHTM when it was WTPA in 1973.

“I’m leaving abc27 with lots of great memories and, hopefully, a promotional coffee cup,” added Rhodes. “I was actually hired on April Fool’s Day, but the joke was on them, I stayed!”
