WDEF anchor and Chattanooga, Tenn. native Andrew Harrison only recently returned to the city to anchor new local evening newscasts for News 12.
But shortly after his October return and the debut of News 12 Now at 5:30, Harrison came down with Covid-19.
On Tuesday, he called into the station’s 5:30 p.m. newscast that he normally hosts, exactly three weeks from the day he was diagnosed.
“I feel fantastic,” he told co-anchor Emily Cassulo over video.
Harrison talked about his experience with the virus. He said he never had trouble breathing or a cough, and experienced “just muscle weakness.” The anchor said he knew something was wrong when he couldn’t pick up a chicken finger.
It took about seven days for his symptoms to subside. “Now I feel healthy as a horse, and I am so thankful for that,” he said.
Harrison has been isolating, but will soon be back on the news.
