CBS Streaming Channel Sees Big Jump in Viewers During Tropical Storm and Earthquake Coverage

By Kevin Eck

More viewers than ever before turned to livestreams to monitor what was going on during the Southern California natural events, which included Tropical Storm Hilary and the 5.1 magnitude earthquake in nearby Ojai on Sunday.

The CBS News Los Angeles streaming channel set a new single-day viewing record for one of CBS News and Stations’ 14 local streaming channels with 21 million live streaming minutes.

That total is +21% higher than the previous single-day record for the CBS owned stations.
