Cristian Benavides has joined CBS Newspath, CBS News and Stations’ affiliate news service, as a correspondent.
Benavides is based out of CBS owned station WFOR in Miami. This marks the first time that CBS Newspath has had a correspondent based in Miami.
He comes from NBC owned WTVJ in Miami and has also worked in Tampa, Washington, D.C., Phoenix and New York.

In 2016, Benavides covered the deadly earthquake in Ecuador in for Telemundo and NBC affiliates. While at WPIX in New York, he anchored a special on the migrant crisis-traveling to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, then provided reports from Central America for all Tribune affiliates.
