CBS News Adds 2 From Owned Stations

Jiang_Villareal 640CBS News has announced Mireya Villarreal (left) and Weijia Jiang (right) have been bumped up to the network.

Villareal, who comes from owned station KTVT in Dallas-Fort Worth, will be a correspondent for CBS News while Jiang, who comes from CBS’ flagship station WCBS in New York, will work as a correspondent for CBS Newspath.

Jiang has worked at WCBS since 2012 as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Before that she worked at WJZ in Baltimore, WBOC in Salisbury, Md. and WBRE in Scranton, Penn.

Before coming to KTVT in 2013, Villarreal worked at WOAI in San Antonio, KRGV in Rio Grande Valley, Texas and KGNS in Laredo, Texas.

Villarreal starts July 20 at CBS News and will be based in Los Angeles. Jiang starts at CBS Newspath on July 6 and will be based in Washington, D.C.
